Easy to make, plain white pan - the best fresh with butter and ham or strawberry jam.
INGREDIENTS:
- 15 g fresh yeast ( I always use Polish one as I can't find fresh yeast enywhere in Ireland)
- 1 tsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 and 1/4 glass of WARM milk
- 3 and 1/2 glass of plain flour
- + 1 egg disordered with 1 tsp of milk to spread on the bread before baking
DESCRIPTION:
- Crush yeast into a mug,add sugar and 1/3 glass of milk. Mix and leave it for 15min to grow. Mix flour and salt ,add yeast and the rest of the milk.Knead for about 15 min.Put in a bowl,cover with a clothe and leave for 90min.
- Prepare a rectangular baking form and spread it with oil. Form a roller and put inside the baking tray. Leave it for another hour,then spread with an egg mixed with milk and bake in the oven preheated to 200C for about 30-35min.
IMPORTANT: Milk has to be warm otherwise yeast won't grow properly and bread might be to heavy.
